The BOMB took this year's HomeBrewCon by storm! This success was due to all of the club members who pitched in to attend the conference and/or brew for the event. Huge support from our friends at Lallemand Brewing pushed this year's conference presence to a whole new level. The BOMB left a mark on attendees and turned heads not only at our awesome "Always Sunny in Philadelphia" themed booth on Club Night, but at the Lallemand booth with beer brewed by our members. BOMBers showed the home brewer world that we go the extra mile with anything we do. A special thanks to the following members who supplied the BOMB presence at the conference and brought our booth to life:

On this day in 1933, Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the Cullen-Harrison Act into law and ended the prohibition on beer production and sales. The signing of the act lead to the eventual repeal of the infamous 21st Amendment and the lifting of moral across the country. It is rumored that FDR said after signing the Act, "I think this would be a good time for a beer!". Americans celebrated by piling into pubs and taverns and the result was over 1.5 million gallons of beer being sold that day. You can read more about the holiday here. Celebrate the legalization of Homebrewing on May 7th by exercising your right to be an independent brewer! The American Homebrewers Association is organizing a national day of brewing. You can pledge your commitment and get a sweet deal in return. By signing up to brew, the AHA will give you a $5 discount on your new or renewing AHA membership. In return, the AHA makes a small donation to our club for each new or renewing member. Sign up today! |
